Moorestown North Church Street WTP Upgrade


The project scope of work consists of the upgrade of the North Church Street Water Treatment Plant to include process for the removal of 1, 2, 3-trichloropropane (TCP), trichloroethylene (TCE), combined radium (Ra226 & Ra228) and gloss alpha from existing ground water supplies at the site. The plant processes will generally include activated carbon filters for the removal of TCP and TCE and the WRT radium removal system process for the removal of combined radium and gross alpha. The plant will be upgraded to match the current well capacity of 2.88 MGD.

The project scope of work includes the following major items:

  • Demolition of aerator and aerator building
  • Construction of four (4) vertical pressure filters incorporating the Water Remediation Technology (WRT) Radium Removal System process for the removal of combined radium and gross alpha.

  • Construction of six (6) granular activated carbon filters for the removal of TCP and TCE.
  • Construction of 6,000 s.f.± building to contain the WRT and carbon pressure filters.
  • Upgrade/replace existing well pumps.
  • Upgrade plant electrical supply and distribution equipment to accommodate new process equipment
  • Relocation of emergency generator.
  • Miscellaneous site work.
